P.O.C. Dive
I can't believe I forgot to post these... the diving helmet made a big splash at PlayOn Con, where it successfully made its first public dive with all the paint on.
It was a ton of fun, but one glairing design flaw remains: the air pump is just too weak. Even with all the seals in place and the hose very firmly attached (no leaks) the pump I'm using just can't push hard enough to offset more than about 4 or 5 feet of water. Any deeper than that, and the helmet starts to fill up.
Still, at swimming pool depths the thing is a ton of fun to play with. And if you look down, you'll see some other folks enjoying it with me.
Seriously, this is one of the coolest pictures of me ever taken.

Hi there! Is there any way I can contact you about this helmet? I am writing a book about the history of hard hat diving, including home made gear, including the Modern mechanix (flawed) designs. Your design is very interesting and I'd love to mention it in the book, is there any way I can email you or you email me for more details?
Stewart.
